MEAN MULE DISTILLERY

Working with Mean Mule on three murals for their agave distillery was actual dream come true. Not only have I always been a tequila girl but Iโ€™ve been a fan of Mean mule since the day they opened. Over the years iโ€™ve been manifesting working with them on a mural and it wasnโ€™t until I emailed them to shoot my shot that I realized it was a possibility. I feel so grateful that they took a chance on me and let me show them what I can do.

Here are a few of my favorite concepts that didnโ€™t get picked for the front wall design.

FINAL DESIGN CHOSEN

Original distillery door concept ideas

Both distillery door murals ended up being fully freehanded. I started sketching on the wall and designing as I went.I had been drawing a lot of agave in preparation for this project so things just flowed out of me and iโ€™m so proud of how it turned out.

Side one is inside the distillery, it was very dark in there and had no windows. That side also had a huge hole in the brick above the door that I didnโ€™t plan for so I decided to add a moon and night sky to camouflage it into the rest of the mural.

Side two changed a lot of the original design and is probably one of the coolest things iโ€™ve ever created. I love seeing how a project can change shape from the original plan and become even better.
